Anchor & Almanac
By installing or using Anchor & Almanac ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
These terms are written in plain language so a regular person can read them. They're meant to be fair to both sides.
Anchor & Almanac is published by Kinzi Herron, an individual homeschooling mom in the United States, doing business under the name Anchor & Almanac ("we," "us," or "our"). Contact: info@nextfrontierbuilders.com.
You must be at least 18 years old, or a legal guardian acting on behalf of a household, to subscribe. The App is designed for use by parents to manage and assist their own family's homeschool. Kids may interact with the App under a parent's supervision (e.g., doing catechism practice, reviewing memory work cards) but the parent is the account holder.
The App offers a paid subscription with two billing options:
Prices may change for future subscribers. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change affects their renewal.
All billing is handled by Apple via the App Store. We never see your payment method. You manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Anchor & Almanac.
Free trials are honored once per Apple ID per subscription group, per Apple's standard policy. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
We don't issue refunds directly. Refund requests go to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple grants or denies them at their discretion.
An active subscription unlocks:
We may add or change features at any time as the App evolves. We won't remove the core planning, family, kid, curriculum, or report features without giving subscribers reasonable notice.
Don't:
We may suspend or end an account that violates these limits.
The AI features in this App are powered by large language models and will sometimes produce inaccurate, incomplete, or confusing output. Specifically:
You're the parent. You make the call.
The reports the App generates are for your own record-keeping. They are not legal documents and are not vetted by any state education authority. Confirm with your state's homeschool requirements what records you need to keep and what to file. Anchor & Almanac is not responsible for any state-compliance gap.
Catechisms, hymns, Scripture, Bible reading plans shipped with the App are public domain or freely licensed (Westminster Shorter, Heidelberg, Baltimore No. 1 — public domain; New City Catechism — CC BY-ND 4.0; M'Cheyne reading plan — public domain). You may use them as you would any public-domain text.
The App's code, design, brand, prompts, and curated content are the intellectual property of Kinzi Herron. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own family's homeschool while your subscription is active. No other rights are granted.
Your data — names, lessons, plans, photos, notes — is yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you enter.
See our Privacy Policy. The privacy policy is part of these terms by reference.
You can stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling deletes your local data. Cancel your subscription via Apple as described in Section 3.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of Section 5 (Acceptable Use), for failure of Apple billing, or if we discontinue the App entirely. If we discontinue the App, we'll give subscribers at least 30 days notice and prorate any annual subscription refund where Apple allows.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE APP IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
Some jurisdictions don't allow limits on certain warranties or liabilities; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kinzi Herron from any claim arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Kinzi Herron resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts located in that state.
We may update these terms as the App evolves. Material changes will be announced via an in-app notice and reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new terms.
These additional terms apply because the App is distributed through the Apple App Store:
